The Broadhurst Family

of Derbyshire

Hannah Martin (nee Broadhurst) claimed on the 1861 census at Reading, Berkshire that she was 24 years old and born in St. Peter's, Derby.

She had two young boys and she was married to George Martin, an ex Army Sargeant of the 60th Kings Royal Rifles.

Of course we have searched for her birth around 1837 in Derbyshire and their marriage sometime before 1861 but have found nothing.

As George Martin had served in India, they may have married there and moved to Reading on his discharge in 1852.
