Suddenly I woke up and my, did I feel peculiar! I didn't know where I was, and where was James and Mummy & Daddy?

There were some very nice people looking after me and soon I didn't feel quite so afraid but I was really glad when the nice lady came and fetched me and took me out to Mummy and Uncle Eric! I don't feel so good so please can we go home I thought. Very soon we were on our way out to the car and I jumped in as fast as I could so they couldn't leave me behind.

The journey home was not so good because the nice lady in Emsworth had put something strange around my neck and it stuck out so I couldn't lay down or turn around in the back of the car. It was like having my head stuck inside a plastic bucket! After a while, and managing to free this "bucket" from the roof of the car, I laid down and got a bit more comfortable. I was glad to get home though.

I went to sleep and in the morning Daddy came home from his night work and took a look at me - I think he was a bit surprised at how I looked!

After a few days I was beginning to feel a lot better and Daddy took some photos of me. I don't look so bad do I!

After Daddy had taken the pictures of me I soon didn't feel so good. My face was swollen and I couldn't see out of my eye. Mummy 'phoned the nurses at Emsworth and they said not to worry as it is normal for some swelling to occur after an operation (I know what that is now!). But the swelling got much bigger and so Mummy and Daddy took me to see my Vet Deborah and she said I needed to have a drain put in to clear the fluid. I thought a drain was something under Mummy's sink?! Anyway, off we went to see Deborah and then Mummy & Daddy left me there (Woof! I thought I've been left again and this doesn't look good). But I needn't have worried because Deborah sorted me out and James came with Mummy & Daddy to get me quite quickly. I don't think I looked too good, as you can see from the photo Daddy took............

James said I look as though
I have been shot by the Indians!

After 4 days I went to see Deborah again but she said I wasn't ready to have the drain taken out and to try again on Thursday. But Thursday came and she still wasn't happy so I had to go back to see her on Friday. This was very strange because Daddy took me and we didn't go in the car, we had to go on a very strange thing called a bus. I had never been on one before and with my "bucket" on my head it was all very frightening. Still, Daddy took good care of me and we got safely to see Deborah and Hurrah!!! she said I could have my drain taken out and have the "bucket" off my head!! At last I can itch myself and shake and run and feel good again!
