Kezi's Page
This
page is a bit too much for poor Kezi to understand!! We have now had a long chat with Martyn King who did Kezi's operation and have also seen the laboratory results of the tests done on her lump - it appears it was very rare, and typical of a pseudo tumor called subcutaneous nodular fasciitis. Unfortunately, because it was so deep rooted and had grown around the tear duct and nerves to the eye, not all of it could be removed. The bad news is that it may regrow, although it may be prevented. The good news is that it is unlikely to spread to anywhere else in her body. |

This
is a nodular lesion that different experts have different
opinions on. All say that it needs to be cut out. Some say that it will not normally respond to steroids, and that it usually needs further surgery to remove the rest of the tumor, or it will regrow. Others say that even if it is not all removed this may not be a problem and that it may not regrow, and that even if it does, it may respond to steroids. The good news is that it usually won't spread. Experts use lots of terms like usually, unlikely, may not, in some cases and sometimes. This seems to cover most outcomes. |

We are all
just waiting now.... will Kezi's lump return? .....can it
be treated successfully if it does? ..... we can only
wait and see. Kezi has been through so much over the last few weeks and has put up with it all in her usual "laid back" way! In the words of Deborah, Kezi's Vet.....Take her home, give her lots and lots of love and enjoy her! Kezi has the final words in the last page of this little series.... |
