Monday 6th April 2015 In the morning we awoke and again the sun was shining. After a lovely breakfast we decided to get our bikes out and go for a ride along the seafront at Seaford. On our return we had a light lunch and a relaxing afternoon. We were pleased to meet up with a fellow motorhomer who lives in Luton who was on her way back from shopping. We first met this couple on the beach at Newhaven last year. Later in the afternoon we went for another cycle ride and in the evening after our meal we settled down for a well earned rest.

Tuesday We awoke to another lovely sunny day but unfortunately this was another chores day! However after doing the chores we took ourselves off to Eastbourne, East Sussex for some retail therapy (well that's what Dorothy calls it ) followed by a dinner in Wetherspoons to build ourselves up for the trek back to the motorhome. This gave us the fortitude to travel back to Newhaven, picking up fresh water along the way.

Wednesday morning, another glorious day and we made our way to Newhaven West Beach in time for breakfast.

Waiting for Breakfast!

During the day we were pleased to meet up with friends we had made the year before but most of the day we just sat and took in the view of the white cliffs, sea and boats..

We awoke to another lovely day and took advantage of this
by spending some time tidying up the large storage area
under the motorhome.

Later that morning we strolled down to the local store near
the marina to stock up on provisions.

We returned for some lunch and ate it outside making the
most of the day whilst the sun was shining

This is begining to feel a bit more like retirement !

I just love Spitfire, Abbot, Harveys, and other English beer
unfortunately these are not easily available in France. Friends
on facebook say that we should stock up but I think that a
brewers dray behind the motorhome would be a better choice :)

In the evening our very good friends Zelie & Martin brought us a fish & chip "bon voyage" supper which we enjoyed with the wines and beers we had bought earlier. The evening passed all too soon and before we know it they had to say goodbye and leave us. We then spent a peaceful night at Newhaven West Beach.

Friday we had to be up and away fairly early because we were going to our Nephew's wedding. We drove to The Boship Farm Hotel where the reception was to be held and parked up as we were staying there that night. We met up with Dorothy's family and all proceeded to Hellingly Church a few minutes away. The sun shone down on them that day and it couldn't have been a better day for a wedding. The Bride looked absolutely stunning. After a lovely service we returned to The Boship Farm Hotel for Pims and photos, followed by a four course meal. In the evening we were entertained by the band that our Nephew sometimes sings with. Just to prove the point he did a few numbers for us! Not to be outdone the Bride, our new neice, is running her very first marathon in the Brighton Marathon on Sunday!

Saturday we woke up in the hotel car park after having a good night's sleep. We made our way into the hotel to join about 50 of the guests who all turned up for breakfast with the newlyweds! After saying our goodbye's we went to Seaford to catch up on our laundry!! We spent the afternoon with Dorothy's Mum (whilst hanging out washing!).

We left late afternoon to make our way to see Allan's Number One sister Jean and her husband for a farewell visit. Allan was pleased when Jean gave him a copy of the latest photo taken of his Number One sister Lil who lives in Canada and who has not been too well. We then left to go and see Allan's Number One sister Sheila and her children and son-in-law. We were very pleased and surprised when two of Sheila's grandchildren arrived specially to say goodbye to us and wish us well on our travels. Some that couldn't come have sent us messages. We enjoyed Sharon & Jon's usual excellent hospitality and thank Jon for being the one who always draws the short straw to go and get the takeaways!! What a lovely family we have - we will miss them all, especially all of Allan's Number One sisters!! :)

Sunday having returned to Newhaven last night, we did some last minute shopping and then returned to Newhaven Beach where we will spend the next two days before catching the ferry (eeeeekkk 2 days!!!!!) We had arranged to meet up with two friends, Dawn & Martin, whom we met last year when we all were spending the summer on the beach together but unfortunately they couldn't make it because they have decided to book the ferry leaving on Thursday morning and so their family wanted to visit before they left. We are now meeting up with Dawn & Martin on Thursday in France!!

We went for a stroll and met up with Ray and his dog Sadie whom we met last year on the beach, had a good catch-up phone call with a friend of Dorothy's who had lots to be excited about :) and an afternoon visit from Allan's friend from work and his family who wanted to be stowaways and come travelling with us! Later in the evening we had an entertaining Facebook chat with Dave, a fellow motorhomer and geocacher, whom we first met years ago through the Caravan Club.

Another week has flown by already.
